2023 Gospel Pass Everesting Challenge

Here are the dates for your diary:

The
Drover Cycles Herefordshire Devil – Sunday 1st October 2023

The Drover Cycles Gospel Pass Everesting Challenge – Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th June 2023

Our charity partner is very close to our hearts. We will be raising funds for the The Dear Toby Trust.

This is a new charity which was set up in memory of Toby Hambrook-Skinner, Luke and Anna’s nephew, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) in October 2016, aged just seven weeks old. He spent the rest of his short but inspiring life at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London and tragically lost his fight against cancer at just seven months old.

Toby’s parents, Verity and Nathan, supported by their incredible friends and family (including their extended GOSH family) are committed to finding a kinder way to beat childhood cancer – in Toby’s name. They also want to do everything they can to support paediatric oncology nurses – who are, quite frankly, the greatest human beings on earth. This is the mission of The Dear Toby Trust.

£5 from every sportive entry will go directly to The Dear Toby Trust.

New to Drover Cycles sportives?

Our road cycling challenges are all set in the glorious surroundings of Mid Wales and the Marches (the Wales/England border region).  We love running these events and it seems you like taking part too – we reckon it’s the combination of superb scenery and mountains of homemade cakes, among other things! Our sportive routes taking in the finest riding in Shropshire, Herefordshire, Mid Wales and the Brecon Beacons including classic climbs like the Long Mynd and Gospel Pass.  All routes are signposted with our easy-to-spot fluorescent pink arrows which seem to go down well with our sportive riders with comments including “spot on signage, we never missed a turn” and “perfect for me, didn’t miss a beat all day”. We have well-stocked feed stations run by our friendly team where you can fill up on homemade sweet and savoury snacks, energy food and a range of hot and cold drinks. We have dairy free and gluten free options and, if you let us know you dietary requirements in advance, we will be happy to cater for particular diets, allergies or intolerances. You’ll also get mechanical and first aid support at the feed stations. At the finish you’ll be greeted by a massage therapist and tasty home-made food and drink.

About the Drover Cycles Sportive Series

We’re big fans of sportives here at Drover Cycles! We’ve been riding in and organising cycling events for a nearly two decades from our base here in Hay on Wye on the edge of the Brecon Beacons in the Welsh borders. We took over two successful sportives from Red Kite Events in 2016 and have put our own stamp on the events, adding a third route (and for 2022 a fourth) and continually improving signage, feed stations and adding extras to make our road cycling events some of the best around.
